Eligibility Criteria for West Bengal Constable Recruitment 2021

  • Applicants must have completed Madhyamik Examination (For Constable posts only) from WB BSE or its equivalent.
  • Aspirants need to have finished degree from a recognized university or its equivalent (For SI Posts).
  • Candidates must have proficiency in Bengali Language.
  • NVF, Home Guard Personnel and Civic Volunteers employed in WB Police with 3 years of service can apply for the recruitment.

Age Criteria (as on 01/01/2021)

  • Minimum ages: 18 years (Constable) and 20 years (SI)
  • Maximum Age: 27 years

Age Relaxation: SC and ST- 05 years, and OBC- 03 years.

WB Constable Recruitment 2021- Selection Process

Preliminary Written Test

  • 100 Objective Type questions carrying 1 mark each.
  • Time Duration: 1 hour.
  • Medium of Exam: Bengali and Nepali

Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

  • 1600 meters race in 6 minutes and 30 seconds (Male).
  • 800 meter race in 4 minutes (Lady Constable).

Final Written Test

  • 85 Objective Type Questions carrying 1 mark each.
  • Time duration: 1 hour.
  • Medium of Exam: Nepali and Bengali
  • Negative Marking: 1/4th for every incorrect answer.

Interview

Interview will consist of 15 marks.

West Bengal Police SI Recruitment 2021- Selection Process

Preliminary Written Test:

  • 100 Objective Type Questions (MCQs) carrying 02 mark each.
  • Time Period: 1 hour 30 minutes.
  • Medium of Exam: Bengali & Nepali.
  • Negative Marking: ¼ for every incorrect answer.

Physical Measurement Test (PMT):

  • Qualifiers will be called for PMT and PET.
  • 1600 meters race in 6 minutes and 30 seconds (Male)
  • 800 meter race in 4 minutes. (Lady SI)

Final Combined Competitive Exam:

  • 100 Objective Type Questions (MCQs) carrying 02 mark each.
  • Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes.
  • Medium of Exam: Bengali & Nepali
  • Negative marking: 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer.

Personality Test: – Interview will carry 50 marks (passing marks: 08).

West Bengal Constable Recruitment 2021- Final Test:

All the provisionally selected candidates for Constable and SI Posts (Male and Female) shall have to appear for Medical Examination at the State Government designated hospitals.

Salary Structure

  • West Bengal Police Constable Salary will be as per Level-6 in the pay matrix (Rs. 22700/- to Rs. 58500/-)
  • WB Police SI Salary will be according to Pay Scale of Level-10 in the pay matrix (Rs. 32100/- to Rs. 82900/-).
