NID Result 2020 – National Institute of Design conducts Design Aptitude Test (DAT) Prelims and Mains, once in a year. First, the DAT 2020 result of the Prelims. The final result is declared After the mains exam, that is on 30% weightage of the prelims and 70% weightage of the mains for B.Des/GDPD course. Master of Designing Programme is based on 20% weightage of the prelims and 80% weightage of the mains. The NID DAT 2020 Result will be released in the form scorecard under the candidates’ login. The candidates have to check their status of qualification by simply log in to there account. The important dates in this regard are shown in the table below:

NID DAT 2020 Result for Prelims

Separate merit lists shall be prepared for each category such as OPEN, OBC-NCL, SC, ST & PwD which is based on the marks obtained in the DAT Prelims examination. Results for admission to NID for the B.Des., M.Des. and GDPD programmes (including overseas candidates) is declared only online on the official admissions website (www.admissions.nid.edu) as per the schedule. 1st step: Click on the direct link which is mentioned on this page as per the timetable.

2nd step: Now, candidates need to enter their registered E-mail ID, DoB and Verification Code.

3rd step: Click on the ‘Submit’ button, after entering the verification code.

4th step: NID DAT 2020 result will be displayed on the screen.

5th step: Candidates can check their qualifying status and can save NID DAT result 2020 for future references too.

Note: No separate result scorecards will be sent to the candidates.

NID DAT Prelims M.Des Result 2020 Re-checking Process

All applicants are also given an opportunity to request for re-checking for M.Des. DAT Prelims Exam 2020. To initiate the request of re-checking, candidates should keep their login credentials ready. Applicants can follow the steps given below:

1st step: Visit the official website which is admissions.nid.edu or click on the link mentioned on this page.

2nd step: Click on the link of the “Login to submit Rechecking Request for M.Des. DAT Prelims Exam 2020”.

3rd step: Now, enter your E-mail ID, DoB and Verification Code. Click on the submit button after entering all the above-said details.

4th step: Now, the request for re-checking is going to be kept in consideration.

Note: The request of rechecking is only going to be entertained if you have submitted the scanned copy of your admit card signed by the invigilator and has the seal of the examination centre.

NID DAT 2020 Mains – Shortlisting of Candidates

Based on the merit list of NID DAT 2020 Prelims, eligible applicants are needed to appear for NID DAT Mains i.e Studio Test and Interview. The total number of candidates shortlisted is no less than three times the number of seats available per category in that discipline or programme. In case of a tie, i.e. if the total marks in the Prelims exam of two or more candidates are same, they are assigned the same rank.

Final Merit List for NID DAT 2020

The final merit list for each discipline of the Bachelor of Design program, Master of Design program and Graduate Diploma Programme in Design programme shall be published category wise, meaning based on the total sum of the scores scored by the applicant at each stage of the admission process of NID DAT 2020.

The weightage of Prelims and Main examination score is given as below:

Relaxation in cut-off marks for the candidates from reserved categories

Applicants from the reserved categories shall be offered admission according to their rank in the first merit list. However, for the General category, the lowest mark of the last seat secured is considered as the cut-off score.

As per last year’s data, the standard of measure, cut-off marks relaxed for applicants from reserved categories was as follows:

Important Note

    1. Simply obtaining a rank in the merit list does not guarantee you admission to the programme of your choice.
    2. Any requests for rechecking answers of the NID DAT 2020 Prelims or Mains is restricted to checking–
      • Whether all the answers have been examined
      • Mistakes in totalling of marks for each question
      • That the score have been transferred correctly onto the cover page of the answer book
    3. Any requests sent without a scanned copy of your NID 2020 Admit Card will not be responded.
    4. Candidates are admitted to the B.Des and GDPD programme shall be required to attend a mandatory foundation programme of one-year duration. Allotment of a discipline of choice shall be based on an applicant’s merit and choice only after successful completion of the foundation programme.
    5. Aspiring applicants can apply to a maximum of ONLY TWO disciplines for the Master of Design programme.
