The National Eligibility Test (NET) is conducted on behalf of the University Grants Commission (UGC). This exam is an important test attended by candidates aspiring to apply for the Assistant Professor post, Junior Research Fellowship, or both. The selected ones are recruited to government colleges and Universities in India. Until 2018, this test was conducted officially by CBSE, which later was administered by National Testing Agency. UGC NET is carried out for 102 subjects in 91 cities across the country which is one of the biggest ever conducted.

The National Testing Agency conducts the eligibility test twice a year, and this update is regarding UGC NET December Cycle (May 2021). The December 2020 cycle is postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and is now being conducted in May 2021. The examination will be held from 02-05-2021 (Sunday) to 17-05-2021 (Monday). UGC NET 2021 is one of the toughest exam to clear for both JRF and Assistant Professorship. To clear this exam, candidates will require to understand the UGC NET Exam Pattern 2021 first. UGC NET Exam Pattern 2021 – Paper II

Paper II will be held on the same day and will be 3 hours in duration.
Paper II will comprise of the topics based on the chosen subject.
There are a total 100 questions in Paper II with 2 marks for each question.
