About the University
The university is the oldest college in Guwahati. It was the 116 year old college has been upgraded from Cotton College State University to Cotton University. The university was set up by an Act (Act XIX of 2011) by the Assam Government in 2011. The assent of the Governor of Assam was received this Act on 3 September 2011, this was notified on 5 September 2011 via Assam Gazette.
The university is also known as Cotton College State University (CCSU). The university offers various undergraduate, postgraduate and diploma programs such as BA, B.Sc, BCA, MA, M.Sc, MCA, Diploma and Ph.D programs.
