Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl is a biopic based on the life of Gunjan Saxena, the country’s first female pilot to fly a fighter aircraft. Gunjan was also present in the war zone during the Kargil war in 1999. In the film, Janhvi Kapoor will be seen playing the character of Gunjan Saxena.
In 1999, during the Kargil War, Gunjan Saxena took the responsibility of saving the injured. Gunjan Saxena and her colleagues Shri Vidya were sent to the area of Kashmir where Pakistani soldiers were firing bullets on Indian soldiers. Gunjan Saxena did her work fearlessly. Gunjan transported the soldiers safely without weapons. Gunjan Saxena was awarded the Shaury Puraskar for her bravery.
